Why We Built ExhibitStampPro
Every litigation attorney knows the feeling. It is the evening before a filing deadline. There are 180 exhibits. Each one needs to be stamped with the correct format for the assigned court. The paralegal is on page 47. There are 133 to go.
This is not a rare situation. It is the standard condition of trial preparation.
The problem with how exhibit stamping works today
The tools most litigation teams use for exhibit stamping were not built for exhibit stamping. They are general-purpose PDF editors, repurposed through a combination of macros, templates, and institutional knowledge accumulated over years of practice.
The result is a process that is slow, error-prone, and entirely dependent on whoever in the firm holds that institutional knowledge. When that person is unavailable — ill, on vacation, or gone — the knowledge goes with them.
The problems compound when a matter spans multiple jurisdictions, involves hundreds of exhibits, or requires late-stage reformatting because the case was transferred to a different district. What was already a manual, time-intensive process becomes a genuine crisis.
We spoke with partners, associates, and paralegals at litigation firms across the US. The picture was consistent:
- Exhibit stamping takes an average of 2.4 hours per matter
- Re-stamping when formats need to change takes nearly as long as the original stamp
- Formatting errors that result in rejected filings happen more often than anyone wants to admit
- No one has built a dedicated tool for this
That last point was the one that surprised us most. Legal technology has advanced substantially over the past decade. Practice management, billing, document review, e-discovery — all of these have sophisticated dedicated tools. But exhibit management, one of the most time-consuming parts of trial preparation, was still being done with PDF editors and institutional knowledge.
What we decided to build
ExhibitStampPro is a single-purpose tool. It does not try to be a practice management system, a billing platform, or a document review tool. It does one thing well: it takes your PDFs, applies the correct exhibit stamp format for your court, and produces a filing-ready exhibit package.
We pre-loaded the formatting rules for all 94 federal district courts, plus major international jurisdictions in Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. We built the stamping engine so that the original document is always preserved — re-stamping never touches the original. We built the court readiness score so that attorneys can see at a glance whether an exhibit package is ready to file.
We priced it so that even a solo practitioner can afford it. The time saved on a single matter covers months of subscription cost.
What we are building next
ExhibitStampPro launched with the core stamping workflow. Filing deadline tracking, court package export, and AI-assisted exhibit analysis are coming next.
We are also building integrations with Clio, MyCase, and other practice management platforms — so that matters created in your existing system can flow into ExhibitStampPro without manual data entry.
For firms with strict data residency requirements, we are building a bring-your-own-database deployment option that keeps all documents on your own Supabase infrastructure. Your documents never touch our servers.
